1974 Porsche Carrera 3.0 RS

Chassis #911 460 9109

A total of just fifty-four Carrera 3.0 RS Coupes were built by the factory and chassis #9109 was the last numbered RS in this short series to leave the Porsche factory. The cars were road legal and fitted with a 3.0 Type 911/77 engine which was perfect for road use but also eminently suitable as a Group B competition car in races and rallies. As with the 2.7 Carrera RS, its 3.0-litre successor was lightened by the use of thin-gauge steel, simplified equipment and fibreglass engine and bonnet lids.

First registered on 28th June 1974 in Germany, finished in Grand Prix White (908) with Guards Red Fuchs wheel rims and matching Carrera scripts. The car has had four previous owners in France and competed only in historic rallies, including the 1996 Tour Auto and several historique Tour de Corse.

Acquired by the current owner in 2013, this genuine numbers-matching example has been meticulously restored in-house at Maxted-Page and is now offered for sale complete with UK V5 registration and EU taxes paid.
