1973 Porsche 911 Carrera 2.7 RS Touring - M472 LHD
A genuine, matching numbers, LHD 2.7 Carrera RS Touring manufactured by Porsche and supplied new in West Germany during January 1973. Finished in Grand Prix White with Red Carrera scripts, this car retains its original, numbered factory engine and gearbox and was specified with the following factory options when new.
Factory options fitted:
410 Sportseats
419 Retractable seat belts
440 Retractable aerial and loudspeakers
571 Rear fog light
650 Electric sliding roof
651 Electric window lifts
Significantly, # 0500 is also an early production (first 500 cars built) homologation Carrera RS, which were manufactured from a lighter gauge sheet metal (0.8mm) than later production series cars that were built using 0.88mm thickness steel.
In 2000, chassis #0500 was professionally restored by Racing Motor Services (56450 Theix, France) at a cost of 95,000 euros and has been nicely prepared for use on historic rallies. The car was fitted with several desirable rally options, which include a twin-outlet exhaust silencer, an under-tray/skid plate beneath the fuel tank, mud flaps, navigator’s Halda meter, stopwatch and road-book reading light, plus a removable fire-extinguisher and four-point harness to both driver’s and passenger seats.
Since restoration the car has covered just 18,000kms and is offered for sale fully serviced by us and in excellent condition and will include UK road registration, MOT and FIVA identity card
We are delighted to have the opportunity to offer this early, all-matching numbers example of what has become the most widely recognised and sought-after 911 of all. A truly iconic Porsche, which continues to increase in value and desirability amongst serious collectors, historic racers and Porsche enthusiasts alike.
