1973 Porsche 911 Carrera 2.7 RS Lightweight - M471
LHD Chassis # 911 360 0898

A correct and original, LHD factory M471 Carrera RS Lightweight, manufactured by Porsche in early 1973. Finished in Grand Prix White with black script and additionally fitted from new with the desirable optional extras no: 220 (Limited-slip differential); 102 (Heated rear window); 433 (Fog lights above bumper) and 440 (Retractable antenna).

Delivered new to German racing driver Fritz Muller, Lightweight chassis #0898 was first road registered in Germany as M-NX-157 and immediately entered into competition in period within EC-GT (European GT Championship) races, DRM (German National Championship) and hill climbs. In late 1973 Muller had the engine up-rated to 2.8 litres and by 1976 he had the car up-rated further still to Group 4 RSR spec. After competing with #0898 in the 1977 RAC Rally (see competition history below), Muller then sold the car in 1978 to fellow German Ruper Kloiber who retained it until 1985. It then passed to its third owner, Dirk Sadlowski who kept the car for a further 14 years before eventually selling it in 1999 to UK collector and BRDC Porsche racing driver, Maxwell Beaverbrook. In 2001 Beaverbrook had the car restored by Francis Tuthill back to correct RS Lightweight spec and sold it in 2003 to David Littlewood. Littlewood continued to improve the car mechanically and had Neil Bainbridge carry out a full engine rebuild in 2004 before selling #0898 to its current and just 6th, continuous owner from new.
