This Car: 

One of only three Tribute to Hybrid Porsche Special Edition Livery GT3 R’s sold to private buyers via Porsche Motorsports North America in 2011. Jens Walther, President and CEO of PMNA, commented: “We have received numerous enquiries from Porsche enthusiasts about the GT3 R and are excited that this model has become available for sale in the North American market. We will offer the three cars as a special edition with a unique ‘Tribute to the GT3 R Hybrid’ graphic design."

Delivered new by PNMA in May 2011 to David L Cercu (USA). The car was serviced and stored by Tru Speed Autosport in Thermal, CA. and debuted in selective club level events organized by Competent Motorsports. In 2017, Matt Alexander acquired the car and ran in three further PCCA meetings at The Watkins Glen, Road America and Sebring, finishing 1st at all three. Since then, the car has been well maintained and stored with only 2,633 miles and has recently arrived in the UK, available for sale and eligible of the new GT3 Legends series by MRL.

Despite the high technical level, the GT3 R is very easy to drive for the non-proffesional. Equipped with traction control and ABS, the car has perfect balance and is very precise and forgiving for the historic racer to become familiar with. The 997 GT3 R is the perfect entry to race in the new GT3 Legends created by MRL and is sure to be a highly competitive and collectible Porsche Motorsports car for this newly emerging category of historic racing..
